Learning about the Mile High City
About the Project
I chose to do an infographic about things to do in Denver, Colorado. I love this city and not a lot of people know about it so I felt that the message needed to be put out there: Check out the Mile High City! This project had to be easily shareable on multiple social media platforms.
Process
I started by sketching my ideas and creating an outline:
I worked a lot on getting feedback from my peers because I needed to know what they wanted to know about Denver. One of the problems I ran into was having too much information but I solved it by doing simple, informal surveys.
I mostly used Adobe Illustrator for this infographic because it’s best to use for creating vector graphics. I made all the icons, the stylized chart, the banner, and the headers. I also used Adobe Photoshop to extend the background of the footer image (the footer image is borrowed for this project, the source can be found at the bottom of the infographic).
I chose my color scheme based on the Colorado flag. I made sure the image could be easily shareable on social media platforms such as Pinterest and Facebook by sizing it to 2000 pixels long and 700 pixels wide. See it on Pinterest.
This project went through a lot of refinement and reworking and I am very happy with the results. Hope to see you in Denver soon!
