See Your World Upside Down
In recent posts I talked about macro still life photography and macro flora and fauna photography. There you can find tips and tricks about shooting macro photography inside and outside. Both techniques can get you some great shots, but what if you want to take your macro photography to an even higher level?
One simple way to get a new look is by adding water drops to your subject. Here’s how you can get the fish eye lens effect as seen below:
- Find a subject that water drops will stick to.
- Place an object behind the subject that will show up in the water drops.
- Make sure you have a lot of light.
- Move your body and your zoom (set to manual) until you find the object in the background showing in the water drops.
- Practice, practice, practice!
There are some other great tips on macro water drop photography from SLR Photography Guide.
Rachel I am obsessed with your water droplet blog post! It looks like you really took the time to make sure the subject was seen in the water.
